ARTIST BIO: Home renovation expert, designer, and artist Keith Bynum stars in HGTV’s series Bargain Block along with his partner, builder, carpenter, and photographer Evan Thomas. The pair work together in Detroit to buy as many rundown and abandoned houses as they can on a single block and renovate them into artful and affordable properties. Keith, known for making his own furniture and art to bring his designs to life, often finds inspiration in unwanted items, salvaged materials, and remnants from previous projects. Art for Keith is often about transforming what would be waste into something usable and beautiful.

Evan Thomas, with a PHD in physics and known for his methodical approach, started his photography journey with the home interiors of the pairs’ renovations. In fact, most photos you see starting from season 1 of Bargain Block were taken by Evan. What began as a way to capture the beauty of Keith’s designs has now grown into a passion for photography.  Now, Evan has merged his love of nature and photography with his recent “Up North” collection.

Both Keith and Evan’s Art can be found in their retail store Nine Design+Homes and at booth MN368 at his year’s fair.
